The Great Wall of China


By the way, did you know that I went to the Great Wall of China? The Great Wall was really fun. I counted 2,312 steps. It was a long, long walk. It seemed like it was endless.

The First Emperor, the Dragon King, was called the Dragon King because he chose the dragon as his symbol. He was very cruel. He took cheats, liars, scholars, and all sorts of people from their homes to go work on the Great Wall. Some of the workers died and got buried in the wall and some were also buried alive!

Life is really good here in China. I wish that I could see you more often or talk to you. It’s really fun. Me and my mom and dad go on an excursion almost each Saturday. My dad went to the Great Wall when he was here and me and mom were back in the United States like you are. I went to the Great Wall a few months after my dad with a field trip with school and my mom.

This is a picture of me with my best friend in China. His name is Thomas. He is from Scotland and Denmark. He lives across the street from me and is in second grade, too. He is in the classroom that is next door to me.

    Clay, Ethan, Avery and I wish we could go on all your adventures with you Lucas! The great wall is on our list to hopefully see some day. You are one lucky kid that you don't just have to read about it in history books! We did not know you were keeping a blog - we will book-mark it and come back often.
